The year 2021 was started and I had no aim or goals like the previous year too. However, I was told to apply for Amal Career-prep Fellowship and I applied, knowing nothing about what I would learn from it. Then passed through interviews and the selection process that was quite an amazing experience for me and it gave me something to learn. The email of being selected was also a moment of great happiness for me.

A Selection Email from AMAL

The first week was very interesting as we introduced ourselves and also everyone shared their fields, backgrounds, and locations in the Whatsapp group which was very interesting.

Everyone was from different fields of studies which meant we were going to learn a lot from each other during our fellowship and yes we did learn too much from each other.

However, besides this, I also felt that it a tough situation as I was not much experienced like other fellows, I was not graduated, was not engaged in different activities. I was just a student having nothing extra plus point with me. And at that time I felt degraded too. However, in the first two weeks when we did the smart goals setting activities, I first time pondered about myself. “ What are my goals’’? “Why I am doing this study?’’ “What is my purpose?” “What are my values?”

With such questions and going deep I started thinking about myself, my goals, my strength, my purposes, and so on, I got a clear vision about my direction. And it was the best experience in my life, I never had it before. My transformation was started in those two weeks. Amal made us recognizing ourselves very interestingly, that we were feeling proud of ourselves. Then the learning groups gave us the happiest moments and so the mega circle group team made me feel proud and happy.

Every moment was beautiful, teaching me something new. Every fellow cooperated, appreciated, and loved each other. There was no hatred, just feelings of helping each other.

There are many other memories too, like 5 acts of kindness refining our smart goals. I remember, when I was doing a small act of kindness I gathered the children of neighbors in my lawn and enjoyed that evening very much. Children always make you smile and happy. I actually photoshoot them and they were happy too.

I learned freelancing tips from my fellows. I learned communication skills, got the courage to take future risks, develop new soft skills, and refined my positive attributes during the Amal fellowship. Amal gave us many memories regarding creative activities, fun moments, chitchat, sharing our life stories.

I had have never this experience before. Even my family was so happy for me, for my transformation. Last but not least, the best part of this fellowship was my mentors' behavior (Mma Naqsh Nasir and Sir Ahmad Raza Mehmood).

They were very sincere, polite, and loving to us. No favoritism but equally motivated every student. They taught us lifelong lessons. I have no words for them to explain my gratitude, they made me feel much proud. Mam Naqsh always appreciated the fellows what they said during debates. I loved her whenever she has to appreciate some student, she uses to recall her/his name and this thing always gave me goosebumps. She is such an amazing personality. And So was Sir Ahmad, who always made the session laughable and interesting with his great sense of humor. Such an amazing Teacher, he is. Both of them made us feel very special. They really poured down their hearts during fellowship and lead us efficiently. May God bless them.

‘A good teacher is like a candle — it consumes itself to light the way for others.’ –Mustafa Kemal Atatürk

The whole fellowship was my best experience of transformation in just 120 Days. It taught me what I was not taught in college, university. In the end, I would like to say thanks to AMAL for such an amazing opportunity and for giving us a wholesome new life. Thanks to my mentors, for every single word they taught me, And thanks to every fellow for their love, help, and care. I am really blessed to have gems like you. Although the fellowship is going to end But I am always here to help you. And I wish every one of you, “Best of Luck” for your Future.
